MARK SCHURINGA

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Mark co-founded and runs Ditton Wine & Spirits, one of the premier fine wine & spirits merchants in London with customers and trading partners all over the world.

He is widely regarded as an expert in his field and accredited with building Ditton Wine & Spirits into the value-driven, trusted, successful business that it is. Previously, Mark had a successful career with the most prominent food retailer in The Netherlands, where as a director of one of its subsidiaries he learned first-hand what it takes to co-run a company.

Apart from his overall responsibilities as MD, Mark focuses on purchasing as well as B2B sales across all regions.

Notable wine: Penfolds Bin 707 for finally understanding what critics mean when they talk about burned rubber.

DAVID MURPHY

OPERATIONS

David joined the wine trade in 1987 beginning his career in the City of London at El Vino, during his career he has been involved with many areas of the business including running a wine bar, on-line, operations and purchasing. He passed WSET diploma in 1994 and has travelled and tasted widely.

In his role as Operations manager David oversees the in and outbound movements of stock internationally, ensuring the right wines and spirits arrive where and when they should. He also looks after private client reserves.

When not in the office, David enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, restaurants and holidays.

In terms of a favourite wine, it’s difficult to say with so many to choose from but perhaps an old Grange if I had to pick one.

BOB CURTIS

International Sales & Purchasing Director

Bob has been in the wine trade for over 30 years, bringing with him a wealth of experience from the international marketplace. He has worked within retail, duty free, dotcom start-ups, agency and wholesale businesses, dealing with B2B and B2C, both in sales and procurement.

Having worked for various prestigious companies such as Berry Bros & Rudd, Bibendum, Hutchison Whampoa and SK Networks, Bob can genuinely offer a rare 360° insight and perspective on the global drinks market.

At Ditton, Bob’s role will continue to be that of a key international trader, identifying opportunities to buy, sell and trade fine wines and spirits, utilizing his expansive network of suppliers and clients gleaned over his 3 decades in the drinks trade.

Away from the office, Bob enjoys spending quality time with his family (and dog), watching Chelsea and going for long runs. His Eureka moment came when he was lucky enough to taste Chateau Palmer 1961.

SIMON SHARICH

PRIVATE CLIENT SALES UK

Simon started his path in wine in 2000 when he established his wine agency representing Italian producers in the UK market.

In early 2013, he moved to London from his home city of Oxford to join the Trading team at Roberson. Since then he has worked with many leading London merchants in B2B sales.

Simon is a highly experienced Trader who joined Ditton in November 2018 to look after Ditton’s Private Clients in the UK, and he also works alongside Mark with our B2B clients.

In his spare time, Simon is a passionate liberal and political activist nominated twice for election to win a seat within his local government council. He has a deep interest in projects that positively benefits local communities. He is also a lover of anything Brazilian, horse riding and military fitness classes.

CALEB NG

PRIVATE CLIENT SALES ASIA

Caleb began his exceptional career serving wine part-time, managing the wines at a private cellar while working closely with private clients, getting to know their palates and preferences in order to select the right wine for the right customer.

He moved from Hong Kong to London to join Ditton back in 2016, distance did not attenuate Caleb’s passion for fine wine and providing adequate advice for our Asia-based clients. He believes that happiness only exists when shared. 

When he’s not working with wine, Caleb loves the cinema, he enjoys narratives portrayed through images  His passions are great wine and a movie and incredible art.

SIMON OLDRIDGE

DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER

Simon joined the Ditton team in October 2021. New to the world of wine but with a key interest in anything digital, Simon manages the Social Media and helps keep the website up to date and looking pristine. He is instrumental in further developing Ditton’s website and online presence in the marketing world.

Simon doesn’t just stick to design but also gets involved with customer interaction, making sure people know whom to go to with questions and queries. 

In his spare time, Simon is a passionate carp angler, spending most weekends by a lake. Simon is also a keen photographer and spends a lot of time capturing moments, most often during his fishing escapades. Even when he is not editing a photo for Ditton he will certainly be editing his own.
