French wine is produced throughout France. As one of the world's largest producers, it is estimated that combined the various french wine producers collectively make between 50 and 60 million hectolitres per year, or 7–8 billion bottles.

France's wine making history can be traced back to the 6th century BC, with many of France's regions dating their wine-making to Roman times.

The various regions within France produce a variety of wines with some of the most famous wines coming from Burgundy, Bordeaux and the Rhone Valley.
