They took refuge in hidden caves and remote glens, evading the watchful gaze of the authorities.
Scotland’s famous whisky regions, including Highlands, Islands, Islay, Campbeltown, Lowlands, and Speyside, now house modern distilleries in once-remote locations. Some regions contain a few distilleries while others require further subdivision due to their expansive size.
