We can ship to most countries. The delivery costs are being automatically calculated at checkout.
However, due to COVID-19, the automated checkout on this website does not support delivery to some countries. If your country is one of those where automated checkout is not enabled, please contact us so we can discuss shipping arrangements and finalise your order – we may well still be able to help.
In addition, due to ongoing problems caused by Brexit, we cannot support automated checkout to the EU. Please contact us to see whether we can still deliver to your country.
We also offer the facility to temporarily store your purchases in our bonded warehouse, fully insured and under perfect conditions.
Shipping costs are determined by the total weight of your order. Please see below for the rate card.
As a guide we have included some examples of what normal (70 or 75cl) bottles weigh. So for example, a 12x75cl case of wine weighs 20kg, which costs £185 to ship to Singapore. A regular case of 6x70cl whisky, without heavy gift packaging, weighs no more than 10kg and will cost £135 to ship to Taiwan.
The weight and therefore cost is automatically calculated at checkout.
Please note, for Taiwan only: local import regulations stipulate that the maximum amount of liters that can be included in one shipment is 5 liters. You can order more than 5 liters, say for example 8, but then you will be charged for another delivery. This applies to wine, champagne and spirits.
Please note, for Japan and South Korea only: local import regulations stipulate that the maximum amount of liters of wine that can be included in one shipment is 27 liters. Please contact us if you want to ship more that 27 liters of wine (there is no limit for other product categories).
Most of our products can be purchased either excluding or including Duty + VAT. Each product therefore has 2 prices:
– The first and main price is the price excluding UK Duty + VAT (in bond). – The second price is the retail price for delivery in the UK
Which price applies depends on the shipping destination you select at checkout. One of the following prices will then be automatically applied:
– An account with a UK bonded warehouse: no duty or VAT * – Any other address within the UK: duty+VAT paid – Any address outside of the UK: no duty or VAT **
* Please note that occasionally the product is already duty paid. Obviously we won’t add duty, but in this case it is not possible to purchase ex VAT.
** In some instances we may charge duty if the overall costs work out lower for you that way.
Please note that for international orders neither our prices nor our delivery charges include any local customs duties and/or import tariffs.
We strongly advise speaking to your local customs office to find out what duties and taxes – if any – are payable on parcels containing alcohol.
Our shipper will contact you to take payment before your parcel is released from customs. It is important that you are contactable when your parcel arrives in customs. If you fail to pay taxes due on arrival (within the required timeframe) your parcel may be seized by customs and additional fees may become payable before the parcel is released, or your parcel may be returned to us and you will be charged for a re-delivery. Any additional fees incurred in this way are your responsibility and will not be covered by us.

VAT refunds unfortunately are no longer possible as of 1 January 2021 due to new Government regulations.
Ditton Wine & Spirits is a specialist retailer of wine, champagne, whisky and other products that sometimes have been in circulation for years, and in some cases, decades. In those cases you should expect to see imperfections (marks on bottles, minor tears to labels, marks on boxes, dents in tubes and other minor imperfections) on items purchased from this site. No returns will be accepted as faulty or damaged goods if they are simply showing their age.
We will tell you if the condition of the product is different from what may be reasonably expected. Whilst there are no photos on the website, we can provide them – please satisfy yourself as to their condition before placing an order. If you require additional images before purchasing, please contact us.
Cancellation of orders Your right to cancel an order for goods starts the moment you place your order and ends 14 days from the day you receive your goods. You must inform us as soon as you decide to cancel your order.
Returns Once you have notified us of your cancellation, you have a further 14 days to return the items to us.
To return your product, you should first notify us by phone or email to receive instructions about the return destination.
You must use a reputable and trackable service. If you are returning goods that are not faulty we will refund the original delivery charge but we are under no obligation to cover your return postage costs and applicable taxes will be charged back to the you
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item(s). We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
For your full refund to be approved we must receive the goods in good condition within the timeframe specified above. Deductions can be made (potentially to zero) where goods have been returned to us in an unsatisfactory or unsaleable condition. This includes items which have been damaged in transit.
Defective or damaged items will be exchanged if there is a suitable replacement available. Please contact us immediately if you receive faulty or damaged goods. Many of our items are irreplaceable in the short term and therefore we will work with you to find an acceptable solution in those cases.
Please note that En Primeur wines can only be cancelled within 7 days of placing the order. A full refund of the purchase price of the wines will be given on receipt of formal notification in writing of cancellation of the order. Due to the unique nature of en primeur sales we regret that orders cannot be cancelled after this time.
If your refund is approved we will process a refund within 14 days. Please note that credit card companies and banks typically delay crediting funds to your account by several days after the refund has been initiated by ourselves and this is beyond our control.
