Burgundy (French: Bourgogne or vin de Bourgogne) is home to some of the most exclusive wines in the world. However the region predominantly only produces two varieties - Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Burgundy is located in eastern France and these world famous vines fill the slopes and valleys of the Saône, a tributary of the Rhône. Most domaines only produce small quantities, which goes some way to explain their lofty reputation and scarcity.
2020 was one of the driest and earliest harvests in living memory with some growers picking as early as 16th August through to early September: it was easy and quick with the grapes having achieved perfect ripeness.
