The 1999 Lafite Rothschild bottle displays both an engraved “1999” and an eclipse which represents the historical event that occurred in August 1999. It has been described as a clone of the striking 1953 vintage. Difficult weather conditions and a rainy harvest plagued Bordeaux however, with 400 people at hand, Lafite was able to harvest their grapes quickly. It is a supple and elegant wine.
