Opaque ruby. A heady, complex bouquet evokes dark berry preserves, cherry-cola, candied licorice, vanilla and incense, with a zesty mineral note adding vibrancy. Broad, sappy and precise, offering sweet blackberry and violet pastille flavors along with hints of mocha and spicecake. Rich and ample in the style of the vintage, but shows superb energy as well. Finishes sweet, velvety and extremely long, with lingering smokiness and supple, fully integrated tannins. This new project is a partnership between Vega Sicilia and Benjamin de Rothschild, whose branch of that family owns numerous non-Pauillac Bordeaux properties.
