The 2019 Stag’s Leap Karia Chardonnay is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes with 21% being aged in new French oak barrels, with seven and a half months of “sur lie” ageing. The winemakers used oak and malolactic fermentation sparingly. The wine has a vibrant flavour of lemon and lime.
The 2019 Chardonnay Karia sings of fresh pineapple, Bosc pears and spice cake, with hints of candied ginger, beeswax and cashews. Medium to full-bodied, intense and spicy in the mouth, it has an alluring satiny texture and a nutty finish.
